Stack Emission & Ambient Air Quality Monitoring

Stack emission monitoring and ambient air quality monitoring have become the routine for process plant regulated by Department of Environment (DOE) to make available the periodic monitoring report. The report aims to determine compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards, as well as compliance to EIA approval conditions and Prescribed Premises License Compliance Schedule. In SNA, we engage local lab services (SAMM Accredited Lab) to perform sampling and quantitative analysis. These samplings are included in the Malaysia Standard MS (1569:2003).

For stack monitoring, we engage labs to perform isokinetic and non-isokinetic stack monitoring. While for ambient Air Quality Monitoring, we engage labs to monitor parameters such as Particulate Matter less than 10 micron, Particulate Matter less than 2.5 Micron, Oxides of Sulphur, Oxides of Nitrogen and other gaseous substances depending on the project requirement.

Air Dispersion Modelling (ADM)

As part of our specialization, ADM promise a great future for planning stage of the project development. Our assessment is based on the most best available software to suit your requirement and refining the most accurate prediction of the air pollution dispersion. As Malaysian awareness arise in the modern age, the surrounding air quality is essential important in the quality of life. Malaysia also adopted the “Polluter Pay Principle” to promote sustainable development. Being said that, the industrial player should minimize and in compliance their air emission with Clean Air Regulation (CAR) 2014.

Odour Measurement, Modelling & Assessment

We perform ambient Odour Sampling and Determination (OSD) using NASAL Ranger and we do provide other method of measurement provided by Lembaga Getah Malaysia (LGM) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)

On 3-4 December 2012, SOx NOx Asia Sdn Bhd in association with Malaysia Rubber Board [Lembaga Getah Malaysia] had successfully conducted an odour sampling at Bangkok, Thailand for Aerox B.V.. The objective of the exercise is to determine the odour removal efficiency for AEROX odour removal system supplied by Aerox B.V.. The exercise was also assisted by K.P.I. Industry Co., Ltd. as shown in the following video.


This exercise proves to be great expectancy especially in Malaysia. Our company has lead this area as one of the odour expertise in Malaysia.

Air Quality Management (AQM)

In Air Quality Management, we provide professional advice and consultation on managing the air quality of the project site. This special study requires special customization depending to the client objectives.

Environmental Permitting

We help client to obtain environmental permitting from DOE which includes:
  • Preliminary Site Assessment (Penilaian Awal Tapak,PAT)
  • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
  • Environmental Assessment (EA)/li>

Indoor Air Quality

We perform study on the air quality with SAMM accredited laboratory within and around buildings and structure which relates to the existing air quality. Typically, indoor Air Quality study will include effects after prolonged exposure should the air quality provides various risks to health and comfort. Indoor Air Quality Measurement includes Respirable Dust Particulates (Particle range from 0.1 μm to 10 μm) using a portable dust detector i.e. DUSTTRAX II Aerosol Monitor or equivalent (this measurement exercise is not in accordance to the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) for indoor air quality measurement).

Capacity Building

We provide various training modules that cover from the ambient & indoor air quality monitoring, odour assessment and noise assessment.

Our specialized training with ENSEARCH includes:
  • Ambient Air Quality Monitoring (AAQM) and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) training
  • Windrose plot training
  • Air Quality Modelling and Assessment (Level 1 Beginner)
  • Air Quality Modelling and Assessment (Level 2 Intermediate)
  • Air Quality Modelling and Assessment (Level 3 Advanced)
  • Odour Assessment Training

One of the newest training provided is HYSPLIT basic tutorial. We also had various customised in-house training to our client that suit to their aims and objectives.



Others

We provide noise assessment services. The noise assessment performed will be simulated using CadnaA (Computer Aided Noise Abatement), software for calculation, presentation, assessment and prediction of environmental noise. We also provide Geographical Information System (GIS) where we are currently developing GIS output for soil erosion. In lighting, we perform illuminance measurement based on Second Schedule [Regulation 29(e)] of the Factories and Machinery Act 1967 (Act 139); MS 1525: 2014 Code of Practice on Energy Efficiency and Use of Renewable Energy for Non-Residential Buildings; and/or MS ISO 8995: 2005 Lighting of Indoor Work Places respectively using Lux meter model (LX-1128SD).
